Why I Love Buffy the Vampire Slayer
1.The name itself. I’ve had to defend it’s honor against charges of stupidity with a defense so long, detailed and some might say mind numbing, that most walk away rubbing their foreheads mumbling under their breath.
I have however, won a few converts. You have to love a show that makes you fight to even get past the title.
2. Giles- Powers include advanced eyebrow raising, extreme eye glass polishing, and the ability to make tea during an apocalypse.
3.Xander- The Everyman. Like the other Scoobies, his abilities are not supernatural but day after day Xander holds his own against all manner of evil with only the sword of wit and the shield of sarcasm.
4.Willow- Awe inspiring vulnerability and looks of hurt that can be felt by complete strangers up to 10 miles away. Other powers include a shy smile and the ability to blind people with science.
5. Cordelia- All hail the Queen, she doesn’t seem to have the seven second time delay that keep most of us from saying the wrong thing. She is a law unto herself. Super powers include a PhD in sarcasm, an almost supernatural fashion sense, and ability to accessorize.
6. Then there’s Buffy and her amazing slayer powers – her kung fu ring pop fighting skills, ability to wear outfits to school that would get anyone else suspended, and her near Jedi like ability to annoy British librarians.
Put them all together, add a Hellmouth and you have the Scoobies.
