The Scoobies Return to Cartoon Network
The Cartoon Network announced that it has begun filming a sequel to the prequel (wrap your mind around that one) for the Scooby Doo film Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins which aired on Cartoon Network last year. The films follow the adventures of Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby as the first start out solving mysteries.
The first movie The Mystery Begins aired last year and explored how the Scoobies first met and solved their first mystery. I saw this film when it aired on Cartoon Network. I have two young boys (4 y/o and 2 y/o) so I am a frequent viewer of the Cartoon Network, I have to be honest; it was a great movie.
I am actually looking forward to the new film Scooby Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster which is set to premiere in the fall of 2010. In the new film, the Scoobies work summer jobs at the country club owned by Daphne’s uncle and hi-jinks ensue.
I would encourage all of you to watch the Cartoon Network’s adaptation of the Scoobies it is wildly entertaining. Oh and by the way, if I have to explain to you why this is relevant to the Hellmouth Podcast and Buffy the Vampire Slayer… shame on you!
