James Marsters Narrates Dresden Files
I am very excited because I finally have an excuse to talk about The Dresden Files on the website. I have been trying to find an angle to introduce The Dresden Files into the Hellmouth Podcast Blog for a while but it didn’t fit with the general content of the site and I try to minimize the curve balls that I throw at you guys.
Finally my angle has arrived. James Marsters is narrating the audio-book version of The Dresden Files series.
If you are not familiar with The Dresden Files then sit back, grab a tight hold on your mouse and keyboard and be prepared to be blown away by some great science fiction/ fantasy literature. Jim Butcher is the author of a series of Sci-Fi/Fantasy Novels titled The Dresden Files. Imagine if you will a powerful wizard with some demons in his past (both literally and figuratively) and then instead of building his story in some expansive, ancient forgotten realms setting drop him into modern day Chicago then you have Harry Dresden.
It is a fantastic mystery series set in a genre that I am extremely fond of. Jim Butcher is a great writer who manages to incorporate suspense, action and humor seamlessly; very similar to the style of writing in the Buffy series that we all know and love.
Now these books are going to be available as audio books, narrated by James Marsters (Spike). I am very pleased to see the marriage of these two series and think it will be a fantastic fit.
If you pick up one of the books and enjoy it, you may also be interested to know that The Dresden Files was picked up as a TV series a couple of years back. While the series only lasted a heartbreaking 1 season, it was done very well and is available for streaming on hulu.com.
Just so you guys know and in the interest of keeping my promise regarding advertisements disclosure. I don’t even know if the audio-books are available from Barnes & Noble. I intentionally didn’t look because I didn’t want any of you to think I was promoting this series to generate traffic for B&N. I found out through a link to buzzymultimedia.com. I also didn’t check to see if the TV series was available for viewing on Netflix for the same reason.
