While I probably watch Once More With Feeling more than any of them, and it is probably my favorite, I think that the episode that had the most impact on me the first time I saw it was Innocence.  While there were later episodes that might have been equally shocking, like The Body, by that time I knew what Joss Whedon was capable of, during season 2 I really didn't.

Becoming part 2 is what did it for me so it's very high on my list of favorite episodes.

OMWF is really fun too.

That's like naming your favorite child . . . although, one that I would name as my favorite isn't on a whole lot of people's lists. . .
"Family"

Great episode as a whole and a whole lot of great scenes . . .

From the cute, cute opening with Miss Kitty Fantastico . . .

Love this exchange:

BUFFY: You wanna take Tara out of here against her will? You gotta come through me.
DAWN: And me!
MR. MACLAY: Is this a joke? (steps down one of the stairs) I'm not gonna be threatened by two little girls.
DAWN: You don't wanna mess with us.
BUFFY: She's a hair-puller.

Giles walks up behind them.
GILES: And ... (puts on his glasses) you're not just dealing with, uh, two little girls.
XANDER: You're dealing with all of us.
SPIKE: 'Cept me.
XANDER: 'Cept Spike.
SPIKE: I don't care what happens.
MR. MACLAY: This is insane. You people have no right to interfere with Tara's affairs. *We* ... are her blood kin! Who the hell are you?

Shot of Giles, Dawn, Buffy, Willow, Tara, Xander, and Anya all standing together in a group, with Spike in the background.
BUFFY: We're family.

and this...

DONNY: Daaad. You -- you gonna let 'em just... (stomps forward) Tara, if you don't get in that car, I swear by god I will beat you down.
XANDER: And I swear by your full and manly beard, you're gonna break something trying. (Donny looks cowed)

And, of course, that wonderful scene where Spike hits Tara

bigmoneygrip You just reminded me how great that epsiode was, I think I'll watch it tonight. I love when Buffy & Dawn stand up for Tara and Buffy says Dawn's a hair puller because Buffy could beat all of them down without breaking a sweat.

I like Family, too, although it's not my very favorite ep. It encompasses a theme in the series of making your own family. My own personal family of origin was horrible, so I have made my own family as a grownup. I really relate to Buffy and the scoobies being a family and looking out for one another.

I find it really hard to pick favourites for anything in this unvierse. I'm just a very indecisive person and I also don't like signaling things out by calling them favourites. I also wouldn't like to say that 'Once More, With Feeling' is my favourite because that's such a typical answer. Although it is toally the one I watch most and find total genius, along with 'The Body' and 'Hush' of course.

I also think 'Family', 'Intervention', 'Smashed', 'Wrecked', 'Something Blue', 'Innocence' and 'Passion' all make the top of the list. I've probably left out a whole bunch but I love all of these eps for one reason or another. Cheesy

I think my favorite episode is "Fool for Love." I just learning more about Spike.  To me spike is probably the most developed of any of the Buffy characters!  If it was possible to adore Spike anymore finding out he was a bloody awful poet makes me love him!

Runners up:  checkpoint, becoming part II, innocence, the prom, restless, something blue, conversations with dead people, once more with feeling, tabula rasa, and dopplegangland...selfless I adore too.  Truly I adore so many episodes!

I really like The Zeppo. I've watched it a dozen times. It was the first episode for which I guest hosted on the podcast, and I wanted to be ultra-prepared. I think it is overlooked. Nick Brendon does such a great job in that episode.

Don't know that I can pick just one...

I remember watching the series for the first time and the getting to "The Pack". I Loved it!! It was a really good Ep and not as cheesy as the what I'd seen so far. Then I got to "Prophecy Girl" - when Buffy overhears Giles and Angel talking, gets upset and says "I'm only 16, I don't want to die..." oh my god. Broke my heart. I knew this show was gonna be great. By comparasen, I know that there are better Ep's but these really hold a soft spot for me as they are why I fell in love with the series in the first place.

Oh, and Funniest Ep... "Tabula Rasa" hands down. I did not stop laughing the whole Ep.

Also on the list "OMWF", "The Body" "Suprise/Innocence" "Becoming 1&2" "Hush" "Fool for Love" "Chosen" and so on & on & on...  I want to add more but I could go on for quite a while..
