Just wanted to give everyone an update on the podcast for 'Helpless'. Daniel and I were supposed to record the podcast on Friday night but when I got home the little one had flushed a toy car down the toilet and stopped it up. I spent my Friday night disassembling the toilet and pulling out of the bathroom to remove the toy and then reinstalling everything. Daniel was very nice to reschedule for sometime Sunday afternoon so I hope to have the new podcast up on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Fortunately I already knew how to take the toilet apart, otherwise the child would have been in even more trouble.  Grin

The podcast for Helpless is now live! Any conversations that were started in the podcast can be continued here.

I am particularly interested in whether or not any of you think that Faith would have survived the Cruciamentum if she had been subjected to the test?

I guess Faith was lucky she was in a Coma when she turned 18 Smiley
I think she would have been Seriously Injured(Maybe enough to result in a Slow Death..Not unlike a Coma Lol).
It's summed up pretty well by Spike's Comment about "A Slayer having family and friends".

That's really hard to answer. Faith loves being a slayer, I think it's like a drug to her but I don't think so. Buffy survived because her mom was on the line and if it wasn't for Joyce getting kidnapped and Giles interfering I don't think Buffy would've survived it either and since Faith has no friends or family she might've just hidden in her room waiting for it to be over unless the Mayor was on the line I think she would've survived. These girls rely on their powers and when that power is taken away from them they become a shell of the person they were but I honestly don't know I guess it just depends on if Faith had someone important to her on the line.

I don't think Faith would have survived. When she feels like she can't win, she runs, like she did when her first watcher died. I think she would have been trapped and died. Her lack of physical strength would have overwhelmed her mentally.

I'm still surprised that Buffy forgave Giles so easily after his betrayal. I think she would have had some "trust issues," at least.

New Question

I know this may sound like an obvious question, but something tells me that we may be surprised by some of the answers...

Do you like or dislike the Watcher's Council? Explain your answer:

Dislike
Aesthetics Plays a part.....There just unlikeable....and played to the nines that way,On Purpose.
I believe Joss wanted Us to feel a certain smothering quailty.....and Over-baring authority figure stuff.
I can't say I hate Quentin Travers as a Person.....but the Body he is apart of.....since it's origins has a been misogynistic.
I don't really understand how they justify having Female Watchers.
I hope thats explaination enough......in regards to my Dislike for the Whole Watchers Council.

Dislike. They're obsessed with rules, stodgy and inflexible. Sure, it probably produces results, but that doesn't make them likable.

I think there have been some great comments about whether Faith would have survived the cruciamentum. Comments about how she might have gone to the boarding house if the Mayor was trapped and how when Faith feels like she can't win she runs. I think those are great insights.

Does Faith truly only fight the fights that she is sure that she can win or does Faith have that type of personality that feels like she can't lose?

I think that the way in which Faith arrives in Sunnydale shows that she will run if she feels threatened. But then part of me looks at her character throughout the rest of season 3 and she seems so arrogant and full of herself that I would be surprised if she felt like she could ever lose a fight. Is her bravado maybe a cover up? If so, what do you think she is covering up?

If you read 'Go Ask Malice',
She's covering up a Hell of alot.
School Bullies
Her Mother's perverted boyfriends
No Father
Abusive Grandfather
Absentee Mother
A stint in a Mental Health Facility
and the Big One watching her Watcher be Murdered.

She's Cocky.....too a point...like you said she's clearly willing to Run when it looks as though she'll be on the losing side.
