 And I Wanna Say My Thoughts About the Vamp In Buffy's house

I'm pretty sure that because "Buffy" doesn't technically live there it's a Free for all

When they ask Buffy her name she doesn't say Buffy.....there for in this Alt-World....Buffy doesn't exist or Own that House.

It's still a human dwelling, isn't it, even if the owner isn't present?  Interesting theory, though.  For my part, I was content to gloss it over, I noticed it, but not in a way to worry so much.

Bryan, I was intrigued by Mrs. Hellmouth's theory about the Halloween alternates representing who the characters "really are," but ...

As much as I like the theory, and I understand why you like it, and I'd love to believe it, but I just don't.

Buffy may want to be a "belle of the ball" girly-girl.  That would be natural.  But it's not who she really is.  We find out who she is really in "The Gift."

Willow?  Willow does have many traits that haven't expressed themselves yet, including more sexuality.  But that costume was trashy, and Willow is never that.

Xander?  I can see that, I won't argue with you there.

Seeing as Joyce's name is on the deed(Presumably) and she wasn't "Different" or Dead.
But Dru does say that everything has changed....It wasn't just a everyone becomes their costume it was a bigger shift within the world.
Looney Buffy is the only person able to let a Vamp in and that seems like a leap,she jumped at her own shadow.
Also doesn't Angel just wander into Buffy's house?Lol

What no one seems to be considering here is that this wasn't a vampire... or at least not what commonly passes for a vampire in the Buffyverse... it's someone wearing a vampire costume.  From Ethan's, I mean.

So, imagine earlier that day, some poor guy walks into Ethan's costume shop, trying to find a costume because his girlfriend is badgering him into going to a party that night and costumes are mandatory.  He has no idea what to get, but knows that said girlfriend, like many, many other females, are really into vampires.  He wanders the shop, and what do you know, they have an entire AISLE of vampire costumes.

Louis or Lestat, from the Anne Rice books.
Damon or Stefan from 'The Vampire Diaries' (the books, which were out at the time, not the series, which was not).
'Space Vampire'
'Generic Vampire'
'Mutant Vampire'
Etc.

Basically what I'm suggesting is that whichever costume he bought, from whichever setting that vampire inhabits, is what that guy became when the spell took effect.  Therefore, 'Random Guy Vampire' became a Vampire who followed THOSE RULES (Including the Invite requirement) and NOT the Buffyverse rules.
Louis, for example, would be a vampire, but would not be affected by holy water, nor would he require an invitation into the house.  (He would, however, be really depressed and whiny ^_^)

And in passing, I've always wondered what the body count was for the whole Halloween thing.  I, for one, very much doubt that Soldier!Xander was shooting to miss in every instance of gunfire, given that he was seeing hideous creatures attacking, wounding, and probably killing normal humans. 
And there were a LOT of little monsters running around with no Slayer to stop them, who were very intent of hurting/killing humans.  You have to figure that a fair number of them succeeded.
