Jonathan - Season 7

Except
If Kendra Lived my Fav Character would never have showed up
kendra's Death makes room for Faith.
I could never have bought Principal Flutie as the bad guy like Snyder turned out to be.
and Jonothan's Death was part of...... if it was executed well(which it wasn't) the really kool S7 storyline.
Jenny sticking around a smidge longer wouldn't have effected much.

Jonathan. I always had a soft spot for Jonathan. I really despised Jenny. Principal Flutie had to go to make room for Snyder.

With Jenny around, Willow might not have become a witch, so we can't have that.
Jonathan deserved death for being part of the trio.
Kendra was a silly character, so need to save her.
Flutie surviving means no Snyder, which makes Buffy's life easier, so out of these four, I'm gonna have to go with him. Now if you were to add Tara to the list of options...

I'd want to save Jenny but I think her death was one of the early OMG moments that made me really appreciate how real this series was.

I think I would have saved Jonathan. Most of the other folks have touched on the other reasons . . . If Jenny's alive, Willow might not have explored witchcraft; If Kendra's alive, we don't get Faith (yay, Faith); and if Principal Flutie lives, we don't get Snyder. Although, since Snyder seems to be a part of the Mayor's plan (and Flutie seemed clueless as to the hellmouth and stuff), the Mayor might have whacked Flutie anyway to get Snyder in his place.

I guess out of the choices I'd have to go with Jenny. I always liked her character and wished she could have stayed around a bit longer, especially for Giles' sake. But I agree with Keven that Jenny's death was one of those moments that made my appreciate for the show reach a whole new level.

There is a sentimental part of me that wants to say that in spite of her betrayal at the very end Jenny Calendar loved Giles and wanted to make things work with him. That part of me would want to save Jenny, purely so Giles could be happy. God knows when you get knocked unconscious that much you could use a few things to go your way every now and then. It would have been nice for Giles if Jenny had lived.

Very close between Jenny and Jonathan two of my absolute favorite characters in the series. I would choose Jenny only for Giles' sake.
