What do you think of Dennis the ghost? (And, yes, this is a preemptive post; I thought we could generate some talking points for Bryan.)

In this episode, I felt so bad for him!  And when they show his mom putting him in the wall... creepy!  And I could just not imagine dying there... ugh...

As for an overall character, I loved him.  I thought he took care of Cordy and really became her only confidant for things going on in her life.  I think if ghosts could "love", then Dennis loved Cordy.  He not only hid her secrets, but knew when to share too. (Ala 3.11 Birthday).

Doyle is wallowing in self pity.
I think Cordelia represents Hope & a Future.
Whenever he talks about Cordy he says that she's fun, bright and outgoing.
3 things Doyle (and Angel)lack.

Cordy's Path to Change
Moment one
Asking to work with Angel
Moment two
Standing up to Mrs.Pearson
Moment three
Is coming and I think it's the biggest one....until the full change occurs.

Lol My Grandmother had the same secret room..it was yrs befor I made it into that room.

Slightly off topic ...but I feel so bad when Fred snaps regarding Cordelia in s4...you can tell it upsets Dennis, the mood in the room changes dramatically. It's also the last time we hear anything about him.I kinda hope he moved on,you know went towards the light.

I'm so glad Cordelia was cool with Dennis living there. He helped her so much.

My only problem with Dennis is that there wasn't more of him.  Because he's just wonderful.

Dennis actually makes me cry!  I find him to be such a tragic character but he was written in such a light hearted way...I think Dennis found a meaning to his life after Cordy came into it.

I think that this was the first time I truly loved Cordelia.  It's actually kind of sad if you think of what is to happen to her in a few years.  This is one of the last times we see a carefree Cordelia.

People keep saying that Dennis did so much for Cordelia, I would like to hear some specifics about what you think he did for her.

I think most of the Dennis stuff actually comes from "Birthday." I remember him throwing his own birthday party for her, a party that never happened. What I remember most though is Fred ransacking the room to try and find what is making Cordy so ill.  Dennis was hiding the migraine medicine until Fred told him that Cordelia would die....he placed the medicine in front of them.

You guys at the beginning mentioned Doyle as an enigma and I completely agree with you guys on that level.  I think it's unfair to compare Doyle to Giles because of the age difference...I'm sure had we met Giles at 25 he would still be struggling with a great deal of demons, litterally and figuratively. Also, I would argue that the fact that we never learned the story of Doyle in detail is the inherent tragedy of his character.

Oh well Im sure we will talk more about Doyle in the coming episodes!

He kept Cordy's secrets(even if they were to the detriment of her health)
He kept her company when she was down and he TRIED to warn her(& Wes) about Faith being in her apartment.

He was a Great Blinvisible(Couldn't resist using the Xander quote) Friend Cheesy
