Anyone else read the Season 8 comics? I just finished reading them and would like to discuss with fellow Hellmouthers.

What was up with the whole Angel as Twilight thing? I was very confused by the last three or so issues. Okay, so they create a new world by shagging nonstop, and then the world is abandoned. Then everything gets strange. Why was Spike traveling with large bugs? Did Angel turn into Angelus? Did the lion thing make him change into Angelus? I can't believe Giles died. I am crushed. Just crushed.

Beth, I have never read comics before, unless you count Archie and Jughead when I was little. I felt compelled to read the comics because I wanted to see what they were doing with (or to) my beloved characters. Sort of like an ex that you like to check in with every now and then. I was worried that the characters wouldn't feel the same in a different medium. However, I was surprised by how real it seemed, like it really was Season 8. I didn't like what happened, but I didn't mind the reading of the comics. I especially think they hit Xander spot on. And they are very quick reads, so if you're pressed for time, that might be a consideration.

The Only Comics I'd read befor Buffy(S8) were 'Better Days' & 'Those Left Behind' the bridge between Firefly and Serenity(The Movie) But like Angie said BtVS S8 was Surprisingly Good.....it's definitely flawed like some of the the TV Seasons....but I found it more entertaining then S7. @Beth I think giving it a chance is the only thing you can do...and if you don't like it.Who cares @Angie Angel as Twilight...If I understand correctly he was possesed by Twilight which is infact the World they Cosmically Screwed into existence.Or that weird Lion Dog. "Twilight" Angel didn't bother me as much as it bothered most of the BtVS Fans, I was more annoyed that Buffy Slept with Angel AGAIN(Doesn't she ever learn?) The Spike Bug Henchman thing has yet to be explained....but I'm assuming it will be a funny Angel NEVER turned into ANGELUS..in S8. As for the Giles Death I was angry it happened the way it did......but I've been expecting it since Giles left in S6 'Tabula Rasa'

`I subscribed to the season 8 motion comics in iTunes, but they seem to have ended after issue 19. I'm not much of a comic reader so I took this route as well. I also was lucky enough to win this on DVD/Blu-ray and it looked awesome that way too. I'm hoping the rest of the run will come out on iTunes soon. Kevin

Spoilers!
Why did Angel kill Giles? Was he possessed by Twilight throughout Season 8? If Twilight was the new world, then how could he have been possessed by it before it existed? Will watching AtS answer any questions for me?

Angel didn't KILL Giles Twilight Did. Angel was possessed by Twilight from befor S8 to the moment he killed Giles. The WHO Twilight really is has yet to be answered...but I believe when Faith can look at Angel again she'll ask him what his last memories were befor being taken over. Watching Angel WONT help The Twilight story had nothing to do with the Angel series.....Angel after the fall(S6 Comics) may have answers in it's final few issues. (I don't know for sure seeing as I stopped at Issue 3)

Bummer Did you want to continue? Yes, I had tried a few issues of the regular comics, but not enough happened in one issue for me to want to wait a month for the next issue, I liked the motion comic format a lot better.

Okay, so Angel was possessed by Twilight the whole time? All of Season 8? Was Twilight lying to Buffy about creating a new world, etc.? Was it sort of like how, when Angelus was in control, Angel couldn't do anything? Is Angel dead now? I'm sorry for all the questions. It was very confusing for me. I don't own them all, just a few issues, so I can't go back and re-read too easily without borrowing them. Good thing there won't be a test on this material. There won't be a test, right?

For the love of hecate I hope there's not a test. My answers are just from my reaction to reading them all once.
Yes ,As I understand it Twilight had taken over Angel sometime befor buffy and the other slayers found the Twilight mark in the 1st Comic. Twilight needed time to get his Army together. I suppose Twilight was lying....I mean he said he was trying to make a "Better" World & we all know how that works out(Chosen?Lol).I wanna say it was mostly lies to get itself "Born". I do believe Angel had no idea what the frilly heck he was doing,His reaction to killing Giles proves that wasn't his intention. Angel isn't dead.(I Hope,I mean he's bunking with Faith now...So I think he's just regular old Angel)

I have the first 3 trade paperbacks, so that is the first 15 issues (I made sure not to look at anything on my way in ) I'm waiting for the next 4 to arrive (they have estimated delivery for the 14th) so I'll be up to issue 35 by then. The final trade paperback was released on June 1 so I didn't order it because I would have had to wait a few more days (seems silly now) so maybe I can find it somewhere here before I head home to a regional area for a month. I'm really enjoying it so far... I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the Buffy-Satsu thing. I think it's an interesting development, but eh... what does everyone else think? I knew it was coming because I saw the interview where SMG was told about it... plus it was sort of obvious it'd be Satsu from the start with the whole 'omg i love your hair' thingy.
