@Slaymaster_general YAY It's a pretty crazy finale  And I'm glad you plan to get Fray and Tales Of The Vampires. I don't have any of the Omnibuses(?) Their over $40 each and there are 7-8? ,I don't have that kind of money. Which is torture everytime I visit my local comicbook store. As for the timeline I read it was between 13-16months after 'Chosen'. Which is why Dawn had enough time to get acclimated at Berkley. |

$40 is a lot! You can get each of the Omnibi for really cheap on Amazon.com The new ones are list for around $16.50. Used copies sell for as little as $2 to $6. For $40 you can buy used copies of all 7 volumes! |

I just received Volume 1 (of 2) of the Spike trade paperback (picture is attached) which is supposed to be tied to Season 8 of Buffy. The big bug question is supposed to be answered here.

Here is my understanding of what happened in Season 8.
Twilight (the winged lion) wants to destroy the slayers and bring about the birth of a new world. Angel assumes the Twilight persona to help Buffy. His objective is to unify the anti-slayer movement (i.e., the military, Amy, Warren) so that he can try and limit the potential destruction of the slayers. Just like in the TV series he is willing to work with evil for the sake of the innocents. Angel was initially reluctant to deceive Buffy, but was convinced by Whistler that not doing so would result in an apocalypse. Twilight (the winged lion) manipulates Angel and Buffy into having sex in order to give birth to itself. Angel possessed by Twilight (the winged lion) kills Giles.
Looks like the big bug and spaceship story is in Volume 2 of the Spike trade paperback (see picture below). This volume won't be released until September 1st. However, the individual comic that tells the story is Spike #6 Something Borrowed.

I saw some of the omnibuses on sale at Supanova today
$25 .....But I chose to get figurines instead.
The figures appeal to me more.

I've heard really good things about the first Buffy Omnibus. I bought one of them for $5 at the comic con in Boston but forgot it in the hotel room. Maybe I'll get to buy a copy at Dragon*Con.

I own Omnibus 1 and 2. Decided to start with these two since they seemed to have the best ratings. Loved volume 1, but the stories in volume 2 were just not as interesting.

I just finished reading my Season 8 stuff. I knew Giles died, but it was so sad to see it happen. Dawn and Xander hooking up was weird, even though I know they are older... but all I can ever picture is little Dawnie. I liked most of season 8, but I'm actually really excited about season 9 and the Angel and Faith comics. I need to read the Fray comics (as I am so intrigued by her character after the crossover comic). Also need to grab that Spike one. The bug pilots were just... strange.

I can't praise FRAY enough.It's AWESOME.She's AWESOME.
Her world is intriguing/really odd and as always the supporting characters are top notch.
