I agree with you about the ridiculousness that is Tucker Wells & his Hellhounds
(I would have prefered seeing the youngest Wells Flying Monkey Romeo&Juliet play scene)
I watched 'The Prom'(& Grad Day P1&2) Saturday night
My Fav line is Giles'  "Who knew that children en masse... could be so gracious"(Which by the way I'm writing as you say it's a Fav of yours from this Ep Lol)
Anya is in my Top 5 Buffyverse Ladies. Cheesy I <3 Anya
Love the Class Protector Umbrella <<<It matches her Dress Smiley
But the thing I love most is the end when each member of the Gang is Dancing with their dates to 'Wild Horses' by The Sundays<<<Love the Song.
Can't wait til Graduation Day<<<<<I'm obsessed with this two parter Lol

I also cry when I watch the Class Protector part. The scene with them dancing at the end is so bittersweet.

What I never really understood is why Angel chose to break it off with Buffy before the Ascension and graduation. I would think that emotional torment of a break-up would just distract her from the task at hand, and it's a little surprising to me that Angel didn't consider that.

Buffy has this line in The Prom

"The great thing about being a Slayer, kicking ass is comfort food."

I think Angel knew that about Buffy.

Also, it just feels like once he was certain that he had to break up with her, he couldn't keep it from her.  He couldn't just pretend everything was OK and let her believe everything was OK.  And he was trying to find the right time to tell her -- he didn't want to tell her in the sewer -- but she sensed something was wrong, confronted him about it, and wouldn't let him delay the conversation.  Oddly, even though they're breaking up, it's progress for them -- directly addressing their feelings instead of hiding or guessing as they've often done in the past.
