I haven't read any comics.  I know some people dislike them, and I have this crazy/obsessive thing about having BtVS "tainted" for me.  So part of me wants to read them, and part of me is reluctant.  I understand that this is weird.  I have a friend that keeps nagging me to watch True Blood, and I keep saying that I don't have room in my heart for other vampires, and it would sort of feel like I was being unfaithful.  Have I mentioned that this is weird?

I'm glad you wrote that post, Beth. I feel better about myself now because I'm not the only one. Someone asked me to watch Twilight the other day. I can't because I would feel unfaithful. Also, I heard it's lame.
I didn't read the comics for a long time, either. But they are very true to the show, albeit weird at times.

I feel like I'm in good company.  Let's neither of us cheat on Spike.  He's been hurt enough. Smiley

- Not Fade Away. What a finale. I think Joss & co. came up with the best possible ending after the cancellation of the show. Storylines were rushed, but it still worked. The show went out fighting. But why didn't Joss do a commentary track for this episode? Was he busy prepping/filming Serenity or what?

I agree so much. Seriously, my favorite series finale ever. It sums up all of the characters, the plots, the themes, and the entire show just perfectly. The last shot is one that will ALWAYS stay with me!

- Much like Season One, there wasn't much overall story arc. So there were the extremely strong stand-alone episodes like You're Welcome and Smile Time. I'm one of the few people who liked both Cordy and Connor in Season Four, but in Season Five they got pretty much the perfect send-offs.

Yay! I'm glad I'm not alone. I adore Connor in season 4, he's one of my favorite things about season 4. Especially his stuff near the end of the season (like in Peace Out and Home), which is just amazing. I agree about their send-offs. While the lack of Cordelia in season 5 and the response to her death is something that's kind of inexcusable, IMO, her ending in You're Welcome is still great and one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the show.

What happens in the comics re:TGIQ? And also, do you agree or disagree about the episode?

I don't find it weird at all! My love for the Character Angel makes me absolutely refuse to watch the show 'Bones'

No other season of television has ever effected me like Angel season 5. After I finished the series I swear I went through a month of hardcore depression. There was just so much about this season. Watching Wes, my favorite, go out fighting like that just shook me. When he says 'Hello there...' to 'Fred' as he lay dying...man I'm choking up thinking about it. I love his character so much. A great example of constant good intentions going wrong.

I was spoiled ahead of time on Cordy being dead in 'You're Welcome' but damn it still hit me hard. It was Angel's face when he was on the phone learning that Cordy was dead.

Mike, I feel the same way. I finished the season in May or June this year, and I was completely depressed after it. And I really had no friends in "real life" to talk about it with, because anyone I know who watched Angel finished watching it years ago.

Really was the end of an Era.
The realisation that we would never see these characters again was a hard hit.
The BtVS finale was sad..but we still had Ats wherein any of our Buffy characters could have shownup and when that was taken soooo abruptly,it hurt.

I also have a deep connection to season 5. That DVD set was a constant friend in a really bad time of my life.
