Back when it originally aired I remember sitting there thinking how the hell did that happen & whats the catch.
It still makes gasp.(and I've seen it 100 times)

I finished S3 yesterday, and Missy asked me to post my thoughts here.

I have grown very, very fond of Wesley, and my heart is breaking for him. First, he loses Fred to Gunn. Then he must decide to give up his family to save Connor. He almost dies, and he loses everything. I was spoiled that Wesley would have his throat slit (by Tim Minear, of all people, but what was I going to do? Yell at him?), but I assumed he would die.

I like Gunn now. I like Fred and Gunn together, even though it broke my heart to see Wesley have his heart broken. Since there love seems so pure and beautiful, I can only assume one or both of the characters will meet a horrible end.

Darla! Oh, man, her story arc was epic! You were right, Missy.

When we first saw Cordelia Chase in Btvs, who would have thought she would become a god? Or whatever she turned into. Nice coincidence she was wearing all white for her ascension.

I was so bored with the whole Holtz story line. Bored, bored, bored. And there is a reason babies are no good for tv shows. That was just boring to me. Any time wasted on Holtz, the baby Connor, or creepy teenage Connor was wasted time when the gang could have been making up with Wesley.

I still don't have very many feelings toward this show. It just doesn't do it for me like Buffy does.

Fred and gunn have such a beautiful relationship.  They were actually one of my favorite buffyverse couples.  But I always had a soft spot for Charles , I find J. August Richards sexy what can I say? 




  I always felt terrible for Wesley...thinking that you are doing what is best but then hurting your friend in the process.  To be fair I am not sure that Angel and Wesley ever got over that.

  But more so I felt terrible for Angel. 
Could you imagine losing your your son like that?

I would say just like Giles ,Wesley has the unsavoiry task of doing what the others can't do....and he pays for it big time(Unlike Giles,IMO).

Fred & Gunn are soooo damn adorable.....their the Willow&Oz/Tara of the Angel series
I really love them together...but I feel that Wes&Fred are soulmates.
Darla stakes herself and we get a whiny annoying teenager(Dawn!!!!!)named Connor cute name...the triplets that played baby Connor Cuter....but Vincent as Teen Connor couldn't be more annoying if he tried.I miss Darla(I have issues Lol)
Sooo you didn't discuss Gunn because you had no feelings toward him,Okay that makes sense.

Cordy Cordy Cordy.......such a fun,nice and caring person.
and now she has ascended....lets hope she doesn't get an ego.
I like Holtz&Justine and the whole Darla&Angelus killed Holtz' family.
I just don't like Sahjahn.

So Angel is at the bottom of the Pacific,Cordelia has ascended to the heavens,Wesley is on the outs with everyone,Lorne has gone to Vegas and Fred & Gunn are left to figure out why their alone all of a sudden.
Most people hate S4 I don't hate it but it certainly has a big letdown.

And what was up with Wesley's hair in S3? It's so long. Fred and Gunn seem good together, and I am happy for them, but I can't be completely happy because of Wesley. In the episode Double or Nothing, I thought that Gunn was going to die for sure. Then I thought, after a time of mourning, maybe Fred and Wesley could get together.
I didn't like Cordelia's hair at the end of S3. I felt bad that she had to ascend with that hair do. I like her btvs hair much better, and I don't like the blond. She kind of reminded me of Kate from Jon and Kate Plus 8 (gag!).
Did Charisma Carpenter have a baby? Is that why she left for a while?
I also felt bad for Gru. I agree that he and Cordy didn't seem right together, but poor guy. Kind of like Riley in a way. Where else have I seen that actor, btw?

Yes, I hate Connor. I hate baby Connor and teenager Connor even more. So he grew up in a hell dimension. Who hasn't? Am I right, people?

I wonder if Angel ever told buffy any of this stuff. Like, I hooked up with my ex for one night and now I have a kid. So, um, what's up with you? Wait a minute, do I smell.... Spike? Wtf?

For me, probably the best surprise about watching Angel was Wesley.  I think he may have edged Willow out of her spot as my second favorite character on both shows.  Just such a complex, rich character, with a really moving, and really complete, story arc.  When you think of how he starts out in Buffy, and where he ends up in Angel, and that the progression is so natural and believable -- it's a real testament to the actor and the writers. His treatment by the others after his actions with Connor was one of the most painful things in the show to me.

I just remembered something.  I tried to stay totally spoiler-free when I watched both Buffy and Angel (this took discipline!), but sometimes I'd be inadvertently spoiled.  Before watching Angel, I'd heard something about a romance between Wesley and a character named Fred, and I remember thinking, "Oh, that makes sense.  Wesley's gay." I kept waiting excitedly for the m/m love story, and was kind of disappointed when I realized Fred was a girl.

I'm sure I'm going to get some flak for this, but I really dislike Fred and Gunn together.  I never found this believable at all, and it felt manufactured to me.

I'm with you on the weird hairstyles of Alexis&Charisma in S3.
and I've often felt that Groo was the Riley of Angel.

Mark Lutz who plays Groo has been in afew things ...to get the full scope just IMDB him.
(He was in Friends the S8 'The One with the Tea Leaves',Ross' ex Mona's date.)

Charisma does have a Baby but she doesn't go anywhere,As for why she disappeared for 3eps...I have no idea.
(they do their best to hide her pregnancy in S4...She got pregnant over haitus)

Well if what Holland tells Angel in S2 Earth is Hell and Connor got off lightly

Hey, Missy, where is it said that the scoobies know? How do they feel about it? I must have filtered that out somehow. And does Angel know about Spike and Buffy?
Do you think Dawn and Connor ever got together to talk about how bad their lives sucked? Talk about a whine-fest.

I guess I was jumping ahead we don't actually hear that they know until well into S4.
Not too sure how they all feel ....I can only asume they took it aswell as Cordy Lol.
(I'm trying not to spoil a Great character quote...or Character storyline for that matter)
I'm pretty sure Angel finds out about Spike&Buffy when he comes back to Sunnydale at the end of
(S7 BtVS ,Which not shockingly coincides with S4 Ats).
to give Buffy that trinket that Spike wears in 'Chosen'.



I'm 100% certain they NEVER got to meet.....but I bet it would have been annoying to watch

I thought Cordy the sitcom was great! I also loved Skip. I wonder why Skip was working in hell to punish Billy then was Cordy's guide. He really gets around.
