Missy asked me to write about some of my feelings after finishing Season 2 for the first time. I had mixed feelings about this season. While I find Angelus in Buffy S2 very entertaining, Dark Angel just left me cold. The return of Darla as a human, then Darla as a vampire, was interesting. I loved seeing Dru call her Grandmum. Juliet Landau just gets better and better in her role as Dru. I liked all the exposition via flashback.
Angel allowing those lawyers to die and setting Darla and Dru on fire, not to mention abandoning his friends, is much less forgivable than what he did as Angelus. Here he has a soul. I am surprised they took him back so easily. Instead of having sex with Darla to cause the epiphany, I would have enjoyed seeing Faith intercede. I think it would have earned her some good karma and wouldn't have minded seeing her share some more screen time with Angel.
My favorite part about Season 2 was Caritas and Lorne. If I went to a psychic karaoke bar, my first choice would not be Barry Manilow. Defintely would be The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel. Anyone else care to share?
Speaking of Lorne, I didn't enjoy the whole journey to Pylea. Maybe on subsequent rewatches I will gain a deeper interest, but I found it a little forced. I look forward to hearing Bryan and Mrs. Hellmouth's interpretation of that story arc, especially the parallels between it and The Wizard of Oz. Mrs. Hellmouth did such a good job with Halloween and analysis of the characters (although I didn't agree with the analysis completely, I found it very thought-provoking), and I hope she shares her thoughts again.
I think I'll miss Lindsey and his evil hand. Every time someone flips me off in traffic, I'll think, "Evil hand!"
I could have done without seeing Harmony again. I really dislike Harmony. Who'd she drain to get so much screen time in the Angel/Buffyverse?

S2 is one of my favorite seasons of Angel. I love the whole Lorne/karaoke thing, and the introduction of Fred, although she wouldn't really be developed as a character until later seasons.  Even though the Pylea arc was more Xena/Hercules than Angel, I liked it OK, especially Numfar.  Drusilla and Darla get developed more on Angel than they ever did on Buffy.

I, on the other hand, flat out love Harmony, one of my favorite characters ever in the Buffyverse.  I find the combination of valley girl, stupidity, and general incompetence at the whole evil vampire thing really charming.

I'm really glad you enjoyed Lorne and Caritas
Lorne is a Fav Angel Character of mine.
I side with Bob on Harmony...Mercedes is brilliant in the role.
Still nothing on Gunn-Why I wonder?
Miss Burkle is my Fav ......Going from Traumatised Fred to Strong empowered demon fighter and beyond is one of my fav Character arcs.
Darla & Dru + Flashbacks = Awesome......We find out Darla was given that name by The Master, that Angelus was a cocky enough to take Darla from the Master, that Darla was responsable for both the Gypsy Girl & Drusilla....yet took no blame, that the nameless girl she was befor Darla was a Prostitute,Angelus and Darla destroying the life of a man named Daniel Holtz.
The B story to BtVS 'Fool For Love'  'Darla' is a stand out ep from s2 for me.
Annie showing up not once but twice Smiley I love that she made something of her life after meeting buffy in L.A.
I like the Pylean arc if only for the brilliance of Fred.(and the Joss cameo as Bob pointed out)
Notice Winifred went missing the year Joss&Co. filmed BtVS s1 Wink
Kate Lockley was never better then when she tried to kill herself(Reprise/Epiphany)..and I don't say that because I hate her but because of what we get from Angel being able to save her life.

Angel sleeping with Darla and lying to Cordy about it will seriously come back to bite them in the ass(I know you've seen 'Heartthrob',but Darla Preggo is the least of s3's troubles)

Can't wait for the s3 Synopsis...for the longest time s3 was my fav Season...it now ties with s2 just for the record.

On original viewing I really liked Lindsey and was kinda sad to see him go....but after yrs of rewatching.....his female counterpart Lilah is my fav W&H Lawyer Smiley
Something you wont get until after seeing all 5 seasons.or maybe not.Lol

As for the Lindsey/Darla relationship it annoys the hell out of me.
It's not interesting.AT ALL.
