My news post wouldn't let me type anymore so here's my thoughts.
I have to agree with Bryan 100% this isn't what we wanted, we wanted Joss, Sarah. Alyson, James, Tony and the rest of the cast back but this is SOMETHING. As Bryan said a fan of the show is going to write the movie so it's not like some newbie jumping on board to make money, this is like one of us writing the movie. The only thing I don't agree about this movie is Joss not being on board. Joss is the brain behind Buffy he should be a consultant or something but other than that I'm happy.
You Can Check Out Byran's Thoughts Here: http://hellmouthpodcast.com/
Eliza Dushku (faith), Clare Grant (seth green's wife) & Amber Benson (tara) all said on their Tweeter they weren't happy because Joss isn't involved and I think that's the only flaw so far about this reboot.
So Hellmouthers what are your thoughts?

I really have mixed feelings about this news. On one hand, I hate to see Buffy in a different light than the one I cherish. I believe Joss created the myth, and to give it to someone else seems wrong. On the other hand, Joss is a big boy and can take care of himself. I think he could have done something else with the franchise if he really wanted to and if he wasn't such a prima donna.

I'm definitely going to see the movie but I'm nervous that it's going to be a mess.

It seems like the media is trying to track down every single former cast member and ask them what they think about the new Buffy reboot. With every article I read I am starting to feel more and more like a traitor.

Like anyone related to the original Buffy would say that cutting out Joss is a good idea.

Kristy Swanson wants a part in the reboot....possibley playing "New" Buffy's Mother :/ I was shocked to hear what she had to say....there was alot more.

I understand But 'Original' made me think of what Kristy had to say about all this

Not stoked... and as awesome as a cast reunion sounds, I'm just not convinced it would recreate the same magic that the TV series did.
In my own defense, I'm just a skeptical about almost all reboots/remakes of my favorite books/shows/movies.

It worked for Trek. I'll keep an open mind...but I'll miss the characters I have grown to love.

The Star Trek reboot is a rare exception. It did work very well, and I assume a cast reunion movie would have to pull a similar card...maybe fighting a time/dimension shifting demon allowing the story to take place in Sunnydale once again.
